Education
I earned my Bachelors of Arts in Religion from Emory University in 2004. I earned my Masters of Arts in teaching early childhood education from Towson University in May 2007. I graduated Towson with a 4.0 and worked in a variety of schools with a diverse student population. I have taught Pre-Kindergarten through 2nd grade.
Experience
I have 6+ years of teaching experience in Pre-K, Kindergarten , 1st and 2nd grade. I have taken numerous courses and continuing education classes pertaining to teaching children the fundamentals of reading and basic math skills. I tutored in the past and enjoy meeting new students and discovering their learning style. I also enjoy the challenge of finding what interests them and keeping them motivated to learn while also having fun! I teach 1st grade during the school year and am looking for other opportunities outside of my classroom to engage with students and practice what I love-- teaching kids!

Hobbies
I am a mother of a 6 year old boy and a 4 year old girl, so I am completely comfortable with being surrounded by young children ALL the time :) . I love being goofy and finding educational and learning activities through a variety of resources. I also enjoying learning through music and rhythm and will often incorporate a rhyme, song, or movement with teaching a particular subject. I have worked with various special needs children in the past such as those with sensory processing disorders, autism, learning disabilities, and apraxia of speech.
